

Betty was born on November 11, 1929, in Springfield the daughter of William and Lena Blumenstein Bachmann.
She graduated from Pleasant Plains High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Western Illinois University in Macomb. Betty was employed as a teacher upon graduation and until her retirement at the age of 65 for many school districts. She was a board member of Falling Brook where she resided with her dog, Sugar. She also enjoyed flowers.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Sandra Michele Hoffman.
She is survived by her sons, Martin and Chris Hoffman, both of Springfield; son-in-law, Mike Standish of Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Andrew, Jason (wife, Christina), and Jordan (wife, Megan) Hoffman, all of Springfield, and Luke and Loralie Standish of Flagstaff, AZ; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jameson, and Harrison Hoffman; sisters, Billie (husband, Russell) Miner and Janice (husband, Wayne) Howard, both of Pleasant Plains, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home—New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin with Rev. David Benning officiating.
Burial will be held at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
