

Betty Jo Million Norbut, 90, of Chatham, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018, at St. Josephs Home in Springfield. She was born November 26, 1927 in Auburn to Joseph (Giuseppe Milione) and Katharine Giganti Million. She married Raymond J. Norbut on September 28, 1962 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Many of Betty Jos siblings preceded her in death: Lena Norman, Santina Million, John Million, Rose Million, Frances Di Giovanna, Marie Million, and her twin, Sam Million. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Linda Norbut (Duston) Suits of Loami and Julia M. Norbut of Wilmington, Delaware; grandchildren, Sarah Halyburton Suits of Loami, Kathryn Million Suits of Chatham; sister, Margaret Manuele of Hawaii; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty Jo went to Lanphier High School in Springfield. After graduating from St. Johns School of Nursing, she served as an instructor at St. Johns School of Nursing, and as a Professional Registered Nurse at St. Johns Hospital, doctors offices and for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services. She helped many post-partum mothers as a lactation expert through La Lech League, which she started in Springfield in 1964. Her family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 15, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 700 East Spruce Street, Chatham, IL, 62629, with Fr. John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
