Betty L. Ross, 75, of Springfield, passed away on June 21, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on December 24, 1937 in Tamms, IL., the daughter of Edward and Julia Maze. She married John Ross on June 16, 1969 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1985.
Mrs. Ross is survived by her two daughters: Ola Mae (Stephen) Wright of Springfield, and Brenda (fiance Rich Barnhardt) Crouse of Springfield, and her two grandchildren: Kayla Marie Pratt and Lillian Wright. She was preceded in death by her infant son Bobby Wayne Ross.
Betty worked from her residence as a live in home caregiver for the elderly and she took care of the Humphrey family. She loved her dog Smokey and her cat Snickers as well as Elvis and country music. She enjoyed singing along with the radio and singing karoke at County Line, the Eagles Club, and Gloria's in Springfield. She was a member of Westside Christian Church.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
