Bonnie was born November 29, 1944, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Victor and Eileen McKnight Matula. She married William E. “Boob” Bartnick on April 5, 1975, in Springfield; he preceded her in death on December 18, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Bonnie worked as a café manager at National Food Store and was also a bartender. She was self-employed as a house cleaner and in her younger years worked in a factory. Most importantly, she was a homemaker and raised her four sons. Bonnie enjoyed listening to music, loved to dance, and loved spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Jack L. (MaDonna) Richards, Jerry (Jill) Richards, Jim (Melanie) Richards, and Jeff (Jessica) Richards; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters, Vickie Matula, Tonie Calcara, and Anna Matula; one niece; and one nephew.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday. February 21, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A funeral ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
