Brad E. Stuart, 52, of Chatham, passed away on January 19, 2021 in Pike County, Illinois. He was born on September 28, 1968 in Decatur, Illinois to Jon Stuart and Monica McKinney. Brad married Lynnette Warner on October 30, 1998 in Mt. Zion, Illinois and she survives.
Mr. Stuart is also survived by his three daughters: Halle, Hanna and Haléna Stuart of Chatham, his mother Monica Stuart of Decatur, sister Kim (Jon) Paglino of Mt. Zion, niece and nephew Paige and Nathan Paglino of Mt. Zion, aunt and uncle John and Minyonne Rhoades of Decatur and three cousins: Shane and Jason Rhoades, and Mike McKinney, all of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his father.
Growing up, Brad was a great athlete and played football, basketball and baseball for Mt. Zion High School. He earned several honors in baseball, including all conference and Macon County player of the year his senior season. Brad led the Mt. Zion Braves to the State baseball tournament his senior year.
After high school, Brad continued his baseball career playing for the Lake Land Lakers. In his Sophomore season, he led Lake Land to the Jr. College World Series with a record of 55-22. Brad was the heart and soul of the team playing shortstop. Brad went on to play at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN where he earned All American honors his Senior season. Brad was a fierce competitor. He hated to lose and he made people around him better. He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Communication.
From 1991-2001 Brad was a teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach at Mt. Zion High School. In 2001 he moved to Chatham and from 2001-2005 he was a teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach at Chatham Glenwood High School. In 2005 Brad started his career in Pharmaceutical Sales and was with Eli Lilly until 2008. He transferred to Medtronic where he was currently assisting medical professionals and families in Spine and Biologics.
Brad enjoyed spending time at the lake house with family, playing board games, Golf, fishing, reading, boating, Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Fighting Illini and watching his girls compete in their activities. He was active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, an Active member of Lakeside Christian Church and he was involved in small group bible study and passionate about leading others to Christ. He always enjoyed a good DEBATE.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Lakeside Christian Church, 225 Toronto Road, Springfield, IL. 62711. The family will greet friends from 3:00pm-7:00pm Friday at Lakeside and from 9:00am until the time of service Saturday at church.
