Brandon Cory Gentry

Brandon Cory Gentry, 26, of Kingsland, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Brandon was born May 11, 1987 in Springfield, the son of Carol Arnold and Jon Gentry. Brandon was known for being athletic and adventurous. He enjoyed the outdoors, dance video games, and teaching his daughter to play soccer. He was a good father and friend to all. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, John Hudspeth and Gerald Arnold; and one cousin, Zachary Hudspeth. He is survived by his mother, Carol (husband, Larry) Kent of Jacksonville, FL; his father, Jon (wife, Elaine) Gentry of Springfield; two daughters, Aleena and Avalynn of Kingsland, GA; grandparents, Violet (husband, Paul) Gentry of Tallula, Lucy Arnold of Kingsland, GA, and Lila Hudspeth of Petersburg; siblings, Michael, Jonnie, Jefferson, Devyn, Matthew, Tiffany and Ellanah Gentry, all of Springfield, Donald (D.J.) Farland, Alyssa Farland, Robyn Kent of Jacksonville, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Chance Newingham officiating. Burial will follow at New Concord Cemetery in Petersburg.
