Bruce D. Bennett, 44, of Springfield, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born November 25, 1957 the son of Bernard and Patricia Kane Bennett in Springfield. Mr. Bennett was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army and had served his country in Desert Storm. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia. He is survived by a son: Ian Blake Bennett at home; his father: Bernard of Springfield; two sisters: Kristy (husband, John) Woods of Williamsville, and Katey Bennett of Springfield; one brother: Kevin (wife, Nancy) Bennett of Fenton, Missouri; his grandmother: Helen Kane of Chatham, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Remains were cremated and Graveside Services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at 10 a.m. where the Interveterans Burial Detail will perform military honors. The family of Bruce Bennett is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
