

Buffy M. Nickel, 46, of Edinburg, passed away at 5:28 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Memorial Hospice at Heritage Health. Buffy was born on October 28, 1972 in Springfield, the daughter of William Darell and Rebecca Yoho Nickel. Buffy was a graduate of Rochester High School. She had an interest in the medical field and worked towards becoming an EMT. She worked as a Lab Technician at Memorial Medical Center and most recently for George Alarm as a call center specialist. Buffy enjoyed music, even once playing in a band, reading, and journaling. She loved animals, especially horses and cats. Buffy was very knowledgeable in many subjects and was an expert with trivia. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her son, Iain Haynes of Chatham; mother, Becky Nickel of Edinburg and son, Isaac Nickel of Edinburg; maternal grandmother, Anna Yoho of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; her cat, Helmet; and best friend, Lonnie Mason. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jon Morrissette officiating. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
