Carol L. Case

Carol was born October 20, 1948 to Harold and Louise (Pellman) Shepard. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1966 and married Eldon W. Case on April 25, 1970. They later divorced, but remained important in each other’s lives.

Carol chose the higher calling of being a stay at home mother in order to raise and educate her children. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Carol was a friend to many, always staying in close contact with those blessed to know her. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was also involved in nursing home ministries in St. Louis Mo and Springfield IL where she would take her daughter along to teach the love of Jesus by action, not just by word. She was a member of Calvary Temple, Springfield. She also worked many years as an insurance clerk at Standard Mutual Insurance Company, Springfield.

Carol joins her parents Harold and Louise Shepard in heaven. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Cohn of Springfield, two children, Christina (Case) Lewis (Fiance’ Alex Johnson) of Albers, IL and Jeffrey (Wife Kimberly) Case of Oakville, MO; two granddaughters Madison Lewis and Hannah Lewis; two nephews Dave Cohn and Mark (wife Sonya) Cohn; and by her great niece Izzie Galeano and her son, Mylo Galeano.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of the funeral service at 10:30 am at Calvary Temple, 1730 W. Jefferson St., Springfield, IL 62702. The funeral service will be at Calvary Temple with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.
