Carol L. Hogan

Carol L. Hogan, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on September 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1938 in Carlinville, IL to Marian and Virgil Thurman "VT" Spears. She married Robert J. Hogan on August 27, 1960. Carol was a member of Church of the Little Flower, and volunteered at Catholic Charities Holy Family Food Pantry and Little Flower School in Springfield. She worked at the Sears Service Department on South First Street and Illinois Bell Telephone. She graduated from Feitshans High School. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelli Hogan; and granddaughter, Lily Hillyer. Carol is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Kevin of Chicago; daughter, Kristi (husband, Eric) Hillyer of Springfield; grandchildren, James, Jacob, Chloe, and Ava all of Springfield; sister, Sue Buoy of Springfield; niece, Stacey (husband, Dean) Graven of Springfield; and several cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Church of the Little Flower with Rev. Allen M. Kemme, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
