Carol L. Nelson

She was born in Springfield, Jan. 31, 1958 the daughter of Arthur and Patricia (Dennis) Williams. She married Donald Nelson in Springfield, Aug. 21, 1976 and he survives.

Carol is also survived by her two sons; Donald and Steve (Danielle) Nelson both of Springfield, her granddaughter, Miranda Nelson of Middletown, IL, two sisters; Diane (Greg) Wheeler of Orange City, FL, and Jeannie Williams of Springfield. She has several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents and a son Michael preceded her in death.

Carol began her professional career as an X-Ray Technician at Memorial Medical Center, and then at Springfield Clinic. She studied politics and the candidates, loved to work in her yard and flower gardens, and loved animals, especially her dogs. Above all, she loved and was devoted to her family. Spending time with them and helping them was her greatest joy. Carol was baptized in the Baptist faith.

Visitation: The Nelson family will receive family and friends at the Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 from 4-7 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory following with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Animal Protective League.
