Carolyn Houck

Carolyn Houck, 70, of Athens, passed away on December 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1951 in Greenfield, Illinois to Leonard Hubbard and Lucille Dodson. Carolyn married George Harlan Houck on October 8 and they celebrated over forty years of marriage.

Mrs. Houck is survived by her husband George, one son David (Christa) Houck of Lake Zurich, Illinois and two grandchildren: Dillon and Holland Houck. She was preceded in death by one brother Lewis Hubbard.

Carolyn graduated from Illinois College in Jacksonville with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. She taught eight grade math in Paris, Illinois and then worked for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation in Bureau Planning while her husband George worked at DOT in operations. Carolyn played the organ at the Baptist Church in Wrights, Illinois every Sunday, she loved to cook and she took incredible care of George around the clock for three years.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday December 20, 2021 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will greet friends from 11:00am until the time of service Monday at Bisch and Son. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Monday at Hickory Grove Cemetery just south of Wrights, Illinois.
