Catherine A. Ryan

Catherine A. Ryan, 91, of Springfield died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Catherine was born November 8, 1913 in Springfield the daughter of Michael and Margaret Quigley Sullivan. She married James Ryan on May 4, 1940 and he preceded her in death April 9, 1975. Mrs. Ryan was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Third Order of St. Dominic. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Tom Ryan, two brothers, Paul Sullivan and Tim Sullivan; and two sisters: Sr. Rose Margaret Sullivan O.P. and Mary Henn. She is survived by three sons: Mike (wife, Diane) Ryan of Springfield, Dan (Wife, Chris) Ryan of Delmar, NY, Bill (wife, Sue) Ryan of Springfield; one daughter: Rita (husband, Phillip) Cannata of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law: Marcia Ryan of Springfield; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters: Helen LaBonte of Springfield, Frances (husband, Albert “Bud” ) Eimer of Springfield, Margaret Sheehan of Springfield; brother: Joe (wife, Helen) Sullivan of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave. Springfield with Rev. Msgr. Patrick J. Wright and Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
