She was born on June 2, 1956, in Staunton, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Margie (Hampton) Stranimeier.
Cathy was a graduate of Staunton High School, class of 1974. She was a part of the Springfield community since 1993, and dedicated 35 years of employment to the Illinois Secretary of State. Cathy married Rex Allen Finley on October 11, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV. Faith and family were very important to Cathy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph.
Cathy Jo is survived by her husband, Rex Allen; mother, Margie; and siblings, Sandy (Kenneth) Thompson of Edwardsville, IL, Linda (Steven) Thoma of Springfield, IL, Carol Klein of St. Charles, MO, and Joe (Robin) Stranimeier of Staunton, IL.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League (APL) of Springfield.
The family will host a graveside service at Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, WY.
