Cecilia A. Gregory

Cecilia was born April 5, 1937, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ann (Timko) Mehlick.

Cecilia was a devoted member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and went on to receive her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Cecilia dedicated her career to education, teaching in Fort Knox, Kentucky, as well as in Michigan, where she was known for her deep love of children and her nurturing spirit.

An avid reader and a woman of strong faith, Cecilia lived her life as a devoted Catholic. She cherished time spent with family and friends, finding great joy in their company. In her younger years, she also enjoyed golfing, a pastime that brought her both relaxation and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cecilia is survived by her son, Kevin Gregory of Pontiac, MI; siblings, Mary Lou Harris of Buffalo, IL, George Mehlick and Angela Wilkinson both of St. Louis, MO, Fred Mehlick of San Diego, CA, and John (Rita) Mehlick of Springfield, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery, 2001 N. 1st St., Springfield, IL 62702, with Fr. George Nellikunnel officiating.
