

He was born on May 27, 1954, in Pittsfield, MA, to Charles and Mary (Monti) Bordeau. Charlie married Chara Henard on July 5, 1983, and they spent 41 happy years together.
Charlie graduated from Florida State University in 1976 with a degree in education and later earned his master's degree from University of Arkansas. He went on to work as a speech-language pathologist for District 186 for over 20 years, as well as in nursing homes and hospitals.
He cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially Sunday night family dinners. In his free time, he loved to play chess, violin, paint, and loved astronomy, history, and trivia. Charlie was also very active and enjoyed bicycling and his daily walks at Washington Park with his beloved dogs. To know Charlie was to love Charlie. He was a ray of light in the lives of all who knew him. Charlie will be greatly missed by his SLP co-workers, students, and friends, but especially by his wife, Chara, and family.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Chara; daughters, Cassie (Todd) Washko, and Christina (Joe) Hubbell, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Morgan Washko (Jordan Barnett), Ellie Washko, Faith Washko, Niko Hubbell, and Rena Hubbell; great-grandchild, Amelia Barnett; siblings, Dave (Jeanne) Bordeau of Austin, TX, Peter Bordeau of Daytona Beach, FL, Charlene Moore of Sarasota, FL, and Michelle (Dennis) Teichert of Pittsfield, MA; several nieces and nephews, Melissa (Skye) Mark, Amy (Evan) Asay, Max Teichert, Alex (Alyssia) Teichert, and Dave (Katie) Moore; and friends who became family, Ryan and Chrissy Dougherty.
The family will host a celebration of life over Memorial Day weekend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
