Charles Thomas "Charlie" Cummings

Charles Thomas “ Charlie” Cummings, 66, of New Berlin, died at 8:42 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1940 in New Berlin the son of Lloyd Vernon and Bessie Irene Davenport Cummings. He married Mary E. Wheeler on June 15, 1963 in New Berlin. Charlie attended New Berlin High School and worked for Bunn-O-Matic as a truck driver. He liked to go fishing and watch racing. He also enjoyed classic cars. He was preceded in death b y his father and one sister: Sharon Hermes. He is survived by his wife Mary Cummings of New Berlin; three daughters: Sheila Cummings of New Berlin, Pam (companion, Ron Wick) Sheppard of Marine, IL and Carla (husband, Tim) Harney of Springfield; four grandchildren: Briana, Tommy “Bubby”, Lauren and Sidney; his mother: Bessie Cummings of New Berlin; four brothers: Ron (wife, Macie) Cummings of Buffalo, John Cummings of Energy, IL, Jack (wife, Cheryl) Cummings of Loami and Bill (wife, Kathy) Cummings also of Loami; one sister: Janet (husband, Lenny) Chaudoin of New Berlin; one brother-in-law: Albert “Bud” Hermes of Waverly and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Brandon Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Virden Cemetery in Virden.
