

Chief Glaser was born March 20, 1939, in Hickman, KY, the first child of Charles R. Glaser and Mary Louise (Woberton) Glaser.
Chief Glaser, a 1957 graduate of Hickman High School, enlisted in the US Navy shortly after graduation. Chief Petty Officer Glaser, as a Fire Control Technician (Missiles) was deployed four times on various ships to different areas of the Tonkin Gulf in support of U.S. Carrier operations in North Vietnam as well as naval gunfire support to U.S. troops in South Vietnam. After his retirement from the Navy, Chief Glaser worked for several years with a number of government contractors applying his knowledge to current shipboard weapons systems, as well as to the design and development of new systems.
Chief Glaser was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Boggs, of Havana, IL.
He is survived by brother, Paul W. and Charlotte W. Glaser of Crystal River, FL; and sister, Mary Beth and Floyd Wombacher of Peoria Heights, IL.
Chief Petty Officer Glaser will be interred at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
