Charles Milton Janes, 70 of Springfield, passed away on May 30, 2025 at his residence. He was born on December 28, 1954 in Springfield to Rufus Ogra Janes Jr., and Margaret Alverta DeGraw Janes. Charles married Judith A. Miller and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2020.
Mr. Janes worked as a Printing Press Operator at University of IL Springfield until his retirement in 2014. He loved woodworking, gardening, camping, & coin collecting. Charles enjoyed spending his retirement years working in his flower garden and playing pool with friends.
Charles is survived by his daughter Kathy Geers of Oswego, IL., granddaughter Abigail Geers of Oswego, IL., one sister Sherleen Janes of Springfield, IL., and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites were accorded and the family will host a memorial gathering at a later date.
