Charles D. Mahoney

Charles was born in Shelby County, south of Clarence, MO, on the 8th day of March,1939. He was the son of William Wayne Mahoney and Mona Mabel Dent Mahoney.

Mr. Mahoney moved to Springfield, IL in 1983 as District Manager of All American Life Insurance Co. He went into automobile sales in 1987 and retired in 2001. Chuck was a very active, fun loving person, who was loved by many.

Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Kent Mahoney and Patrick Wayne Mahoney and step-daughter, Kimberly Pearce.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Mahoney; three sons, Jeff Simpson of LaFayette, IN, Greg Wald of Virginia, and Paul Wald of St. Louis, MO; two step-children, Bradley (Tanya) Norvell of Kentucky and Deborah Bennett of Springfield, IL; four step-grandchildren, Ian Bennett and Elizabeth Perkins of Springfield and Austin and Garrett Norvell of Kentucky; one sister, Donna Joan Million of Columbia, MO; a brother, Michael Eugene Mahoney of Ankara, Turkey; fifteen nephews; and two nieces.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield.

Memorial Ceremony: 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
