Charles F. Meyer, 77, of Springfield, died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2003, at his residence. He was born on October 28, 1926 in Springfield, the son of A. Fenton (Jack) and Zola Marie Lindsay Meyer. He married Mona Weisz on November 25, 1948 in Springfield. Charles served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Fiat-Allis, where he was a tool and die maker, and is a member of the Fiat-Allis Retirees. Charles was a long time member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 755 and a life time member of the Television, Radio and Newspaper Club. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Robert. He is survived by his wife Mona; one son, John C. (wife, Diane) of Springfield; one daughter: Linda L. of Des Moines, IA; and three grandchildren: Christopher, Lesley and Corey Meyer. Memorial Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul with the Very Reverend Warren H. Raasch celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Paul’s Columbarium.
