

Charles J. Novak, 78, of Springfield, formerly of Blountville, TN and Little Falls, NY, died at 1:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at his residence. Charles was born on December 13, 1926 in Forest City, PA the son of Ignatz and Louise Novak. He married Eleanor Riley on June 21, 1950 at St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls, NY; she preceded him in death on June 22, 1998. Mr. Novak, a graduate of Forest City High School in Forest City, PA, worked for Univac, which is now Unisys, retiring in 1982 as an electrical engineer after over 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Charles loved his wife and family and loved to garden, hunt and listen to Polka music. He was also preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by son: Chuck (wife, Alison) Novak of Springfield; grandson: Zach Hunter of Scottsdale, AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by The Cremation Tribute Center. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield, IL. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant. There will be an additional Memorial Mass at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Holy Family Parish, 763 E. Main St., Little Falls, NY with Father Anthony Ligato celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Little Falls, NY. The family of Charles J. Novak is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
