Charles L. Peart, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Monday June 22, 2015 at the University of Chicago Medicine. He was born on December 4, 1946 in Springfield to Lee and Gertrude Nederbo Peart. Charles married Sue Chambliss in Louisville, KY., on March 26, 1970 and she survives.
Mr. Peart is also survived by one daughter Rebecca LeMasters and one son Lee Andrew (Heather) Peart both of Springfield, four grandchildren: Jenna LeMasters and Caleb, Ethan, and Lexie Peart, three sisters: JoAnn Peart, Marti Clark and Kathy Peart and one brother David Peart.
Charles served in the US Army as a tank commander for five years in Germany and one year in Fort Knox, KY., where he met his wife Sue. He was a Security Supervisor for the S.I.U. School of Medicine for 26 years and he was a member of the Abraham Lincoln Gun Club.
Military Rites will be accorded at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date
