

Charles “Chuck” Shauger, 90, of Springfield, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002 at his residence. Charles was born December 2, 1911 the son of Charles and Wilhelmina Ely Shauger in Champaign, IL. Mr. Shauger had worked for Sangamo Electric as an accountant and retired from there after 30 years of service. He was also a retiree from the State of Illinois. He was a former member of Oakcrest Country Club, Mission Hills Country Club, Jacksonville Country Club, and Bunn Park Men’s Golf League. He loved golf and greatly enjoyed the company of his family. He was also a former member of the University of Illinois water Polo and Diving Team. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by four sons: Charles D. (wife, Carol) Shauger of Beaverton, OR, Michael (wife, Minnie Minnito) Shauger of San Diego, CA, Robert David (wife, Cathy McHugh) Shauger of Lakeside, OR, Theodore E. “Ted” Shauger of Scottsdale, AZ; three daughters: Sally Wells of Arlington, TX, Mary S. Fleischli of Springfield, Kathryn “Katy” (husband, Tom) Paine of Santa Maria, CA; eleven grandchildren: Susan Shauger of Beaverton, OR, Geoffrey Shauger of Beaverton, OR, Jillian Shauger of Scottsdale, AZ, Kathryn Shauger of Scottsdale, AZ, Jeff Wells of Arlington TX, Mike Wells of Arlington, TX, Lisa Wells of Arlington, TX, Benjamin Paine of Santa Maria, CA, Christine Paine of Santa Maria, CA, John Fleischli of Springfield, Jeffrey Fleischli of Springfield; one great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002. A memorial service will be at 6:30p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
