Christine Etter

Christine was born on December 7, 1948, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Robert E. and Martha M. (Marsh) Linker. Growing up, Chris spent time in both Detroit and Chicago. She then attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where she met her future husband, Bruce Etter. She and Bruce were married on September 27, 1969, in Dearborn Heights, MI. Chris has been a resident of Chatham for the past 49 years.

For a short time before she and Bruce were married, Chris worked as a stewardess for United Airlines. She then worked within the mental health department for the State of IL for over 20 years. Chris was genuine, strong, intelligent, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed gambling (especially playing the slots), traveling, and loved her trips to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping, spending time with her pets, and spoiling her granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruce Etter of Chatham; one son, Rob (wife, Gina) Etter; two granddaughters, Sydney and Hayden Etter; and one sister, Suzanne “Sue” Sherry.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Private family ceremonies will be held.
