

She was born on March 4, 1969, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of George D. Jr. and Carole (Ludwig) Ficke.
Christine graduated from Blessed Sacrament and Springfield High School, and earned her associate’s degree from Sangamon State University. She initially worked as a senior sales associate for Electra Link, then CommScope for 13 years, followed by Tele-Pro Communications in Weslaco, TX. Christine was a member of the Springfield community for 30 years and moved to Texas in 1999. She grew up Catholic and later attended non-denominational churches. Christine loved spending time with her friends and family, traveling with her daughters to Hawaii, and spending time in the sun. She lit up every room she entered, and her smile was contagious. Christine was independent, assertive, and selfless. Her relationship with her family was very important to her, especially with her daughters, whom she dedicated her life to. Although Christine is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Ficke, Jr.
Christine is survived by her mother, Carole Ficke of Springfield; children, Lillie Carter and Hailey Hollen, both of Austin, TX; siblings, David Doerr and Ruth Ficke, both of Springfield; niece, Nora Ficke; four aunts; and one uncle.
Cremation was provided prior to services.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL, followed by the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Berlin, IL.
