Christopher Marcus Lipsey

Christopher was born on April 7, 1972, in Springfield, the son of Joe Ira Lipsey, Sr. and Betty Jean Lyons Lipsey.

Christopher was a Springfield High School graduate. He received his master’s degree from Jackson State University and took part in the ROTC program. Christopher retired in 2019 after a career as a psychiatrist for over 25 years. He enjoyed long road trips, music, boxing, track, baseball, and reading.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Anthony Lipsey.

He is survived by his two sons, Josh Lipsey of Springfield and Tyberius Lipsey of Mississippi; four grandchildren; his mother, Betty Lipsey; four siblings, Joe (wife, Angela) Lipsey, Jr. of Lansing, MI, Bernard Lipsey of Springfield, Nicole Lipsey of Tampa, FL, and Troy Seabrook of Wisconsin; sister/cousin, Terry Rogers of Fairview Heights, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Ceremony: 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield with Rev. Robert Freeman officiating.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
