

Christopher Wayne Long, 47, of Chatham, formerly of San Mateo, CA, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016, near Glenarm from a motorcycle accident. He was born May 28, 1969 in Germany to Terry Wayne and Nancy Lewis Long. He served his county in the US Army. He married Patricia Ann Finn on August 26, 1995 in Groveland, CA. He worked at Bunn-O-Matic as a quality technician for several years. He enjoyed riding horses with his family, 4-wheeling with his boys and friends and riding his motorcycle with the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club of Springfield. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 22 years, Patty; sons, Gunnar Long of Chatham and Cody Long (girlfriend, Zoey Whitman) of Broomfield, CO; parents, Terry Long of Springfield and Nancy (David) Burkhart of Chatham; mother-in-law, Marilyn Finn of Chatham; sister, Tina (Omar) Lewis-Fields of Denver, GA; brothers, Sam (Hailey) Long of Chatham and Joe (Kayla) Long; grandparents Kay and Lou Randall of Franklin, IL; aunt, Marie Long of Franklin; several nieces and nephews including William Long of Chatham and Michelle Burgard of Chatham; sister-in-law, Sue (Rick) Burgard of Fontana, CA; several cousins including Jeremy Long of Taylorville and Ralph (Cristy) Long of Chatham; pet companion, Tater. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham, before services. His family will greet friends from 4-7pm, Friday, September 9, at Sangamon Prairie Reception Center, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, 62629 at a casual Remembrance Reception in which stories will be shared and memories embraced.
