He is further survived by his siblings, Chung In and Shin (Joe) Hwa; as well as six nephews and two nieces.
A devoted husband, father, and proud immigrant, Chung made his home in Springfield for over 50 years, where he built a life rooted in hard work and quiet dedication to his family. He took great pride in his career as a Quality Team Supervisor at Midas headquarters, where he spent many years, and later continued his strong work ethic at Golden Dragon restaurant until his retirement.
Chung found his greatest joy in simple, meaningful moments. He cherished his wife’s cooking, treasured time with his family and grandchildren, and especially loved gathering together to celebrate holidays and life’s milestones. In his younger years, he was active in church and enjoyed relaxing on the front porch, sharing stories and laughter with loved ones. He also took great pride in caring for his lawn, known as one of the greenest and most well-kept in the neighborhood. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Korean historical films, following the Winter Olympics, and cheering on soccer matches. Chung will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
