She was born in Chicago on December 12, 1954, the daughter of Elmer and Camille (Miriani) Hammerschmidt.
Corinne attended Bogan High School in Chicago. She volunteered her time at Epilepsy Foundation in Chicago. Corinne also enjoyed socializing with fellow residents at Capitol Retirement Village. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sons, William Henry Gory, Jr., of Chicago, and Alan (Cathy) Gory of Ashland; daughter, Dawn (Fred) Crowhurst of Ashland; grandchildren, JT (Allison) Crowhurst and Austin (Kenzie) Crowhurst, both of Pleasant Plains, and Lalia Henaghan of Ashland; great-grandchildren, Henry, Callie, and Ryker Crowhurst; siblings, Camille (Jack) Felker and Celeste (Paul) Krishack of Chicago; step-grandchildren, Jasmine and Jaina Lara, and Jemma Moleski; and several nieces and cousins.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
