Cory was born in Springfield, IL, January 19, 1998 the son of David W. and Theresa Sullivan Geist.
Cory attended Lanphier High School and then completed his education in Tucson, AZ earning and HVAC certificate. He had many interest and worked to attain many certificates in those areas of study. He had recently moved back to Central Illinois to near his family. Cory was an avid and devoted St. Louis Blues fan.
Cory was a bright and loving person who thought of his family above everything else. He was bigger than life in the eyes of his nieces and nephews. He was a best friend to his brother and sisters, and devoted son. He was a hard worker. His position with J.P. Delivery would take him out all night, traveling several miles along the way. He loved his career and was diligent to his responsibilities, especially “on time” deliveries. He had a passion for online gaming, meeting and engaging with other gamers all over the United States. He was known as the family techy, offering his expertise with computers and gaming systems to anyone that needed help.
His grandparents, an uncle and an aunt preceded him in death.
Surviving are his mother, Theresa Geist of Lincoln, his father, David Geist of Springfield, his brother, Michael (Fallaen) Peters of Normal, IL, his four sisters: Heather (Nick) Morris of Springfield, Amy (John) Watson of Bloomington, Stephanie (David) Miller of Temple TX and Danielle Geist of Leander, TX. There are several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL, where the family will greet guest from 11:00 am until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Rev. Mark Gifford will officiate. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch and Son Crematory following the service. The family will host a celebration of life beginning at 2:00 pm at Koo Koo’s 2, 1724 E. Sangamon Ave. Springfield, IL
