Crystal Marie Vega

Crystal was born on June 11, 1965, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas Perry, Jr. and Catherine Marie “Tekawitha” Hill.

Crystal grew up in Chicago and has lived in Springfield for the past 15 years. She was a member of Uturn Life Center. Crystal loved to clean and cook, going for walks outside, helping the homeless, taking care of children, and was a wonderful babysitter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Cindy Kuba; and brother-in-law, Robert Earl Fain.

Crystal is survived by the father of her children, Jose Rivera Sr.; sons, Christian Calle and Jose, Jr., both of Springfield; daughter, Migdalia (Jose Rodriguez) Vega of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Jazmine (Cody) Jones and Jose Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, James and Rosie Jones; siblings, Colette Perry-Fain of Springfield, McKinley Perry of Menard County, IL, and Cynthia Hill of Hartford, WI; nieces and nephews, Angela Perry, Frederick Harris, Michael Qualls, Christopher Perry, Dakota Perry, Randy Hill, Victoria Qualls, and Gregory Qualls; and many cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
