Daniel L. “Sack” Hartley, 72, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born on November 27, 1947 in Springfield, the son of the late George and Jessie (McGlothlin) Hartley. He married Anna M. Gentry on November 13, 1984 in Springfield and she survives.

Sack served in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as an LPN for several area nursing homes. He loved all his animals and showed his chickens at club shows and county and state fairs.

Besides his wife Anna, he is survived by 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Alex) Hartley of Springfield, and Amy (Alec) Clayton of Auburn, IL; 3 grandchildren, Lane, Bryn, and Dallas; a brother Ron Hartley of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sandy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. No services are scheduled at this time but the family may schedule something at a later date.

Anna - I am so sorry to hear about Dan. I've been taking a trip down memory lane and remembering the good times we had at Gin Mill, Bob n' Rita's and The Cottage. He was a good man and will be remembered always for his great sense of humor and love of the good things in life.
