

Daniel C. Salisbury, 68, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was born on June 30, 1944 in Olney, IL to Wayne and Genevieve Salisbury, both whom preceded him in death. He married Betty (King) Salisbury on August 8, 1988. He graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School and was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a Theology Degree. Dan was a partner of Midwest Office in Springfield. He formerly worked at the Eagle Bank in Rantoul, Tele-Save in Springfield, First National Bank, DeMarco Office Supply and US Office Products. He was also co-owner of Iris and Ivy. He is survived by his wife, Betty Salisbury of Springfield; brother, Robert W. Salisbury, wife, Eloise of Paducah, KY; sister, Sharon L. Salisbury Floyd, husband, Michael of Hurst, TX; sister-in-law, Lois Coady, husband Phil; brother-in-law, Dr. Gene P. King; two step-children, Darcy Combs, husband Doug of Marion, IL and Jim Hopkins, wife Linh of Champaign, IL; uncle, Eugene Salisbury, wife Louise of Pawnee, IL; seven nieces; five nephews; and five grandchildren. Dan was the co-founder of the Caddyshack Open, past Board President of Jacksonville Country Club, co-founder of Midwest Office Supply, President of the Trunk Slammers Society, along with numerous charities and boards throughout his career. He was an avid golfer, Illini and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. To honor Dan's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center and private family ceremonies will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
