Darlis M. Garretson, 86, of Springfield, passed away at 10:25 p.m. December 3, 2001 at St. John's Hospital Darlis was born January 12, 1915 the daughter of John Miles and Jorgine Marie Nelson Garretson in Springfield. She worked as a Light Machine Operator for Sangamo Electric retiring in 1978 after 36 years of service. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by six sisters: Thelma Newell, Gladys McCloud, Isabelle Garretson, Marie Wainwright, Dorothy Maloney and Betty White; four brothers: George Garretson, John Garretson, Donald Garretson and Marshall ''Pete'' Garretson. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including four nieces: Patricia Glasgow of Highland, IN, Dolores Harbauer of Springfield, Marlene Herndon of Springfield and Mary Ellen Sattler of Springfield. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2002. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday, January 5, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Harry Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
