

Dave Lerch, 56, of Edinburg, passed away at 4:04 a.m. on Monday, September 6, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Dave was born June 7, 1954 in Augusta, GA, the son of Donald and Carol Cook Lerch. He married Chris Hildebrand on November 27, 1992 in Springfield. Dave graduated from Southeast High School and began working for Garrett Aviation/StandardAero. He worked there for 28 years. There, he spent many years in the sheet metal department, then customer service and finally worked as a scheduler. He then began working for Bunn O'Matic in the Customer Service department. Dave owned a DJ business named Blues Boulevard and a company selling merchandise for the Walter Trout Band. Dave enjoyed his life, living every day as if it would be his last. He loved spending time with his wife, children and his grandchildren. Dave was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and NASCAR. He enjoyed playing softball, singing karaoke and loved his Harley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol and brother, Paul Lerch. Dave is survived by his wife, Chris of Edinburg; son, Michael (wife, Lisa) Lerch of Schenectady, NY; three daughters, Darcie (husband, Sean) Hannah of Lanesville, Dawn Dili of Springfield and Jennifer (husband, Eric) Miller of Pocahontas, IL; father, Donald Lerch of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Graham Lerch, Chase Hanson, Kyle and Juliet Hannah, Jonathon, Raymond and Lucille Miller, and Elaine Dili; two sisters, Donna Sue Lerch and Nancy Stubblefield, both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A graveside ceremony with burial following will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating.
