

David L. Perna, 69, of Riverton, died at 9:20 pm, Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital Hospice. He was born August 5, 1935 in Chicago, the son of Felix and Jennie Dentino Perna. He married Darlene Richards October 29, 1999 in Springfield. David retired after 34 years of service as a stunt actor and stunt coordinator for the movie and TV Industry. Among the many movies and TV series he appeared in are: the role of the first Charlie in Charlie’s Angels, Her Alibi, The Virginian, Rawhide, Star Trek and Terminator II. He was a member of the Illinois Trap Shooting Association and National Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He attended St. James Catholic Church in Riverton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Arthur David Perna. He is survived by his wife; Darlene Richards Perna of Riverton, step son: Daniel (wife, Missy) Wright of Taylorville, six grandchildren, one great grandson, mother-in-law: Frances Kohlrus of Riverton, brother-in-law: Mike (wife, Doris) Kohlrus of Springfield, brother-in-law: John Kohlrus of Chicago, brother-in-law: Ronald (wife, Carolyn) Kohlrus of Bloomington, sister-in-law: Patty Chastain of Riverton and one aunt, one uncle and many nieces nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 :00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2004 at Kirlin – Egan and Butler Funeral Home at 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 at St. James Catholic Church in Riverton with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Steffen and Rev. Msgr. John A. Renken, celebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
