He was born in Springfield on March 31, 1946, the son of Robert Ray and Irene (Sims) Robinson.
David graduated from Springfield High School. He went on to work as an operating engineer with Operating Engineers Local 965, from which he also retired. David also proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a devoted father and cherished time spent with his family. David also attended Real Life Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Robinson; and sister, Helen Mueller.
David is survived by his children, Teresa (John) Ostrowsky of Stonington, IL, Scott (Sarah) Robinson of Springfield, IL, Todd (Suzi) Robinson of Auburn, IL, Beth (Chris) Pope of Riverton, IL, and Aaron (Hanna) Robinson of Auburn, IL; grandchildren, Tara, Seth, and Sydney Ostrowsky, Kathlyn, Aaron, Owen, and Reese Robinson, and Hudson Pope; great-grandchildren, Zaylin and Lukas Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
