He was born May 1, 1929 to Bret and Nettie Thomas in Vermont, IL. He married Anne Brast on October1, 1955 in Peoria, IL and she survives.
David served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Illinois Bell/Ameritech in 1988 after 37 years of service. He and Anne traveled extensively after his retirement. He was a Redcoat at Memorial Medical Center for 25 years. He belonged to the Scottish Rite in Peoria, IL, Telephone Pioneers, and Ansar Cookie unit.
Besides his wife Anne, he is survived by 2 sons, Craig (wife Connie) Thomas of Riverton, and Bret Thomas of Chatham; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers, and 1 sister.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. Per David’s wishes, there will be no service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
