

Deb English, 61, of Akron, CO, formerly of the Chatham area, passed away July 17, 2014 in a car accident in Morgan County, CO. She was born June 25, 1953 in Carbondale, IL to Jack Lee and Marilyn Hokanson Brown. Deb married Larry Russell English on June 3, 1994. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Jeffrey Lane Brown, and daughter Michelle Barnes. Deb drove a school bus for Ball Chatham School District for 25 years. Mrs. English was passionate about books and reading, and those who wish may make a contribution to the Chatham Area Public Library, 600 East Spruce Street, Chatham, Illinois 62629; she also collected dolls and antiques. Deb loved cats and dogs and stray animals always found a home with her. Because of her devotion to pets, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, Illinois 62702. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 20 years, Larry of Akron, CO; daughter, Myra (Paul) Pomeroy of Chatham; grandchildren, Dylan Davidson, Jason Kemp, both of Rochester, IL, Drake, Aydin and Emma Pomeroy of Chatham; mother, Marilyn (Harold) Severin of Akron, CO; step daughter, Jami English of Springfield and many friends. Her family will greet friends from 10am until the time of the funeral ceremony at noon, Friday, July 25, 2014 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629. Rev. Rick Erwin will officiate. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
