Deb was born on June 5, 1960, in Nuremberg, Germany, the daughter of the late Daniel Jackson and surviving Helen Jackson. Her family later settled in Divernon, Illinois. She was a loving sister of Kathy Barrow of Houston, TX, Danny Jackson of Pawnee, and Jennifer (Brandon) Cullen of Wildwood, MO.
Deb grew up in Divernon and later Pawnee and went on to graduate from Pawnee High School in 1978. She attended both Sangamon State University and St. Johns School of Nursing and earned her associate degree in nursing. She held her RN license for 35 years. She held many jobs throughout her lifetime, but her favorite jobs were when she was a home health nurse and when she worked at The Villas Nursing Home in Sherman. She had a special place in her heart for the elderly.
Deb was a mother to three surviving children: Beth (Joe) Metz of Springfield, Taylor (Jacob) Peak and Luk (Savanna) Weder, both of Winchester. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Owen Metz, Elijah Metz, Crozby Metz, Norah Peak, Brooks Peak, Ada Peak and baby, Stetson Weder on the way.
Deb loved planting flowers each spring and taking care of her flower garden. She loved being creative, throughout her life, whether she was redecorating her house, making scrapbooks or revamping her wardrobe. She loved making new friends and truly didn’t know a stranger. To know Deb’s heart was to love her and she will be deeply missed.
