
Dennis M. Komac, 62, of Springfield, formerly of Chicago, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Friday, July 05, 2002 at St. John’s Hospice. Dennis was born April 14, 1940 the son of Edward and Phyllis Cummings Komac in Chicago, IL. Mr. Komac had been employed as a counselor for 10 years by the State of Illinois Andrew McFarland Zone Center. In 1991 he formed St. George’s Productions, which was a film and video production company. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of the American Academy of Science and Arts International. Dennis had a zest for life and he passed that on to all the people who knew him. Even with his illness, he could still laugh and joke about it. With his passing a little bit of love and light have left this world. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers: Edward F. (wife, Babs) Komac of Maplewood, MN, Jerome D. (wife, Millie) Komac of Round Lake Beach, IL; two nieces: Kim and Kara; two nephews: Kevin and Edward and several cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 with a wake service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend John Ossola celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will perform military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that Mass Cards be offered for the repose of his soul. The family of Dennis M.
