She was born on November 2, 1929, in Decatur, IL, and grew up in Niantic, IL. She and Cecil L Snow were married August 20, 1950. They raised their children in Decatur with Cecil having a long career at Caterpillar Tractor Company. They retired to Plant City, FL and spent many summer vacations in Estes Park, CO.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Floyd and Mae Walton, her husband Cecil and his siblings, Catherine Cordoba (Sol), Virginia Rubin (Elmer) and Robert Snow (Marilyn); sisters, Winona Himstedt (Roger) and Kathleen Wood; brothers, Donald Walton and Harold Walton (Mary).
Dee loved being a domestic engineer, traveling out west, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved music, dancing, and clever plays on words, along with puns that made you groan. Not many people knew she loved to write poetry in rhyme. Her biggest joy was her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Surviving Dee are her children Nancy Snow Hise (John) of Crossville, TN, and Rick Snow (Becky) of Williamsville, IL; grandchildren, Eric Hise, Rachel Hise, Andrew Hise (Liz), Jordan Snow (Luciana Tiberio), Lucas Snow (Melissa), and Audrey Kamrath (Brock), five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters Jeanine Shively, June Fried (Charles), Ken Walton (Peppi), and Rodney Walton, along with many nieces and nephews.
Cremation is provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
A celebration gathering is planned for Spring 2024, her favorite season.
