Dolores J. Allen

Dolores J. Allen, 87, of Pawnee, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Dolores was born on December 25, 1929 in Thayer, IL, the daughter of Albert and Hannah Evans Gall. She married James Roland Allen in Virden, IL on August 19, 1950; he preceded her in death on September 5, 1994. Dolores graduated from Virden High School. She worked as a secretary for the Attorney General and various law offices. She and her husband owned Lynch and Allen Company until the mid-1980s. Dolores loved music and dancing, creating floral decorations, and gardening flowers. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved to smile, loved to laugh, and loved God. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Albert "Swede" Gall, Bernard "Bernie" Gall, and William "Bill" Gall. She is survived by her children, Pam (Stewart) Watts of St. Charles, MO, Bill (Cathy) Allen of Springfield, and Scott (Karrie) Allen of Pawnee; grandchildren, Ryne Watts, Brad Watts, Morgan McClellan, Kylie Allen, Mark Allen, Matt Allen, and Kelsie Allen; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Walden, Conway, Brooklyn, and Karsyn; and sister, Evelyn Smith. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Pawnee Assembly of God, 1001 8th Street, Pawnee. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Pawnee Assembly of God with Pastor A.B. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
