

Don J. Coady, 58, of Springfield, died at 10:03 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at his home. Don was born on November 17, 1946 in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Agnes Banaitis Coady. He married Cynthia L. Hall on September 16, 1972 in Springfield. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Don was a 1964 graduate of Lanphier High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong railroad employee working for the G. M. and O. Railroad and then the C. & I. M. Railroad, now known as the Illinois & Midland Railroad as a dispatcher. He also served as a Union Steward for the American Train Dispatchers Association of America. Don loved to fish and collect model trains. He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Coady. He is survived by his wife: Cynthia L. Coady of Springfield; three sons: Neil (fiance’, Teresa) Coady, Jason (fiance’, Elva) Coady and Billy (fiancé, Jennie) Coady all of Springfield; one daughter: Linda (partner, Janelle) Coady of Springfield; seven grandchildren; mother: Agnes Coady of Springfield; one sister: Mary Homeier of Elgin; one brother: Bob (wife, Marcia) Coady of Springfield; one uncle: Clem Banaitis of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Chapin Cemetery in Chapin, IL where military honors will be conducted.
