Don L. Gore

Don L. Gore, 71, of Springfield died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at his residence. Don was born July 4, 1934 in Pulaski County the son of Don and Pearl Basse Gore. He married Wilma Marie Tennis on August 8, 1954 in Cornith, MS; she preceded him in death in 1998. Mr. Gore was an accountant for the Department of Public Health until his retirement in 1995. He is survived by one son: Stanley Gore of Riverton; one daughter: Kathy (husband, John Albsmeyer) Gore of Springfield; two grandchildren: Kelly Gore of Springfield and Kris Gore of Riverton; five great grandchildren: Isaac, Brett, Destine, Valerie and Derik; three brothers: Carlos Gore of Peoria, Forrest (wife, Delores) Gore of Clarksville, TN and Calvin Gore of Swansea, IL and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 pm. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Barkett Funeral Home, 501 1st St., Mounds, IL. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Barkett Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Olmsted, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL. Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield is in charge of local arrangements for the family of Don L. Gore.
