Donald "Don" E. Jordan

Don was born on January 1, 1933, the son of David H. and Lillian (Carter) Jordan. He married Shirley Finney on October 17, 1953; she preceded him in death on December 9, 2019.

After graduating from high school, Don proudly served his country in the Navy, during the Korean conflict. He went on to work for Fiat-Allis Construction Machinery in Springfield and retired after 36 years of service. He then worked at Marine Bank for 10 years and worked for Chase Bank for 10 years as well. Don belonged to Calvary Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; half-sisters, Fannie Jordan, Annie Green; half-brother, David H. Jordan, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Richard) Edge of Springfield; sons, David of Springfield, Michael (Jacki) of Tucson, AZ, and Tod (Deb) Jordan of Riverton, IL; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; half-sisters, Sonia Smith of Heartford, NC, Sheery Hughes of Zebulion, NC and Sue Nepud of Delen, FL; half-brother, Howard Jordan of Elizabeth City, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private Funeral Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave W., Springfield, with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Graveside Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Camp Butler National Cemetery Columbarium with military honors by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and Department of Defense.
