

Donald E. Mayfield, 68, of Springfield, passed away March 12, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital. Donald was born April 29, 1933 the son of Joseph and Dorothy Davis Mayfield in Springfield. He married Betty Rowe Casper February 11, 1972 in Springfield. Mr. Mayfield was employed as a lineman for City Water Light and Power (CWLP) for 36 years. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1953-1956. He was a member of American Legion Post #32, DAV Chapter 15, IBEW #193, Elks and Eagles in Springfield. He was also a member of American Veterans #4 in Tampa, FL. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his wife and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son: Lawrence Casper. He is survived by his wife: Betty Rowe Casper Mayfield of Springfield; two sons: Michael (wife, Amber) Mayfield of Marion, Daniel (wife, Nancy) of Marion; one daughter: Melanie (husband, Rob) Concepcion of Miami, FL; two stepsons: Ronald (wife, Ruth) Casper of Springfield, James (friend, Joyce Bushnell) Casper of Springfield; one stepdaughter: Constance Casper of Springfield; one brother Terry (wife, Rosie) Mayfield of Springfield; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002. Funeral Services will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002 with Reverend John R. Ossola officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the choice of the donor. The family of Donald E.
