Donald S. Robertson

Donald S. Robertson, 86, of Berlin, died at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Donald was born October 29, 1931 in Berlin, the son of William and Elizabeth Fisher Robertson. He married Carol Reager on November 10, 1989 at the Berlin Christian Church; she preceded him in death on June 11, 2007. Donald graduated from New Berlin High School, class of 1949. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Master of Science in Business Administration. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Alaska. He was employed by the State of Illinois for 30 years until his retirement in 1991. Donald was a member of Berlin Christian Church where he was a member of the church board and held various leadership positions. He was also involved in 4H, Berlin Cemetery, and the Village of Berlin Township board. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and raising Black Poland China pigs. He was also preceded in death by his parents; step-sons, Mike and Robert Long; and siblings, David Robertson, William Robertson, Jr., Marjorie Robertson, Mary Lou Leatherby, Patricia Wake, Richard Robertson, and Thomas Robertson. He is survived by his step-daughters, Linda Day and Sandy Verheijde of AZ; siblings, Harry (Fran) Robertson of Collinsville, Judy (Tom) Fitch of Springfield, and Martha (Kenneth) Stephens of Berlin; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson, New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Berlin Christian Church, 2580 S. Wake Road, New Berlin, with Pastor Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Berlin Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense. Memorial contributions may be made to Berlin Christian Church, 2580 S.
