Donald L. Rowe

He was born in Detroit, MI April 12, 1932, the son of Joseph and Florence (Osborne) Rowe. He married Marilyn Hodge in Houston, Texas, May 5, 1956, and she survives.

Also surviving are his son, Sgt. Maj. Michael A Rowe Sr. Retired of Hamilton, GA, his grandchildren: Michael A Rowe Jr., of Texas, Joseph Swanson, and Robert Swanson, both of Geneseo, IL, Rev. Rebecca Groves of Toulon, IL, Brittney Frame of Grand Mound, IA, and Audrey Williams of East Moline, IL. There are three great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters: Sandra Swanson and Cathy Rowe, and his brother, Joseph E. Rowe.

Don proudly served in the United States Air Force. Don worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) as an Electronic Technician. After his retirement, He served as a Red Coat volunteer at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Don was a member of First United Methodist Church, Springfield.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 11, 2025 with Rev. Rebecca Groves officiating in Camp Butler National Cemetery at a time to be announced. Military honors will be provided by the Department of Defense.
